Why I Won't Be Renewing My Season Ticket.
N Thomas George. (Guest Writer)
I have been a season ticket holder for the last 23 years, and indeed I have been a fan for well over 50 years, but I feel that now enough is enough. It’s not just the fact that we are playing woefully and in fear of relegation, it’s the whole ethos of the game.
We pay an arm and a leg for either a season ticket or just to visit for a single match, we are treated like cattle, herded in through the turnstiles, and once inside we are subject to some of the most extortionate pricesfor food and drink that you could find. I could visit the Grand theatre weekly and be in warmth and comfort paying nowhere near as much for food and drink than I would at Molineux. More and more people that I talk to also feel the same and believe that it may only be a short period of time before this current situation forces football to implode.
The players are not performing, it was reported that they rebelled against the previous manager’s style of play which was seen as the reason that we were losing weekly, however under new management the situation appears to be as bad if not worse. I resent the fact that the money I pay for my season ticket goes towards paying these same players a formidable weekly wage that is the equivalent to most people’s yearly salary only for them not to perform.
There is, or indeed should be, substantial funds within the club that should have been utilised to purchase new players during the past transfer window, which did not happen. Then we get the chief executive apologising for the current situation just before its time for us to renew our season tickets, where have you been the rest of the season? Also where has Morgan been, his silence is deafening. The only way that I will renew my ticket is if it is half price, otherwise I will be watching amateur football next season on the parks.
A really disgruntled long term Wolves supporter.
